Dr Rebecca Haslam

Dr Rebecca Haslam is a Research Associate in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Newcastle, and an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Sports Dietitian. Working in the highly acclaimed Priority Research Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition at UON, Rebecca is continually fuelled by the passionate nutrition researchers that surround her.
Rebecca completed her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2011 through the University of Newcastle and was awarded her PhD in Human Physiology in 2017. Rebecca’s PhD investigated sex differences in obesity including the effect of appetite hormones on weight loss and also dietary choices of men and women during weight loss. Her current research focuses on improving diet quality to reduce bowel cancer risk
