Vice President of People and Capabilities, Mastercard Australasia
Erika Takahashi is the Vice President of People and Capabilities at Mastercard Australasia. Erika is responsible for all human resources (HR) functions in Australia, New Zealand and 14 Pacific Islands, including driving cultural transformation, organisational design, building leadership and talent capability. She is a member of the Australasia’s Leadership team.
From when she joined Mastercard in 2015 until assuming her current role, Erika served as Vice President of Human Resources for the Geo South Division, based in Brazil. In this role, she was a key contributor to the division’s business growth, the evolution of its operating model, and the development of leadership and talent capabilities. Erika also worked at increasing employee engagement and helped build the local company’s employer reputation in a competitive environment. She was responsible for leading Mastercard in Brazil to achieve the first of “Great Place to Work” certification and the “Great Places to Work for Women in Brazil” award in 2018.
Prior to joining Mastercard, Erika was a core member of the HR leadership team at Gucci for nearly 3 years, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Earlier, she held HR positions in GE and Korn/Ferry International in Brazil, working extensively across different cultures in Latin America. Erika initiated her career in the American Chamber of Commerce as intern.
Erika holds a Masters in Human Resources from FIA/USP, Brazil, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Facamp – Faculdades de Campinas. She also has accreditation in project management from the ESPM. She’s fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
